Seems like I spend an awful lot of time driving. I’m picking up kids, going to the store, running errands…how about you? Most of the time my mind is running in different directions and everything is on autopilot, and my random thoughts flash in and out of my head (most I can’t remember and count as “senior moments”).
But, the other day a stop sign caught my eye. STOP. In this day of acronyms, (WWJD, TGIF, lol, 24/7, etc.) I thought the STOP sign could help me think of spiritual things more often if I used it as an acronym of my own. Please allow me to share it with you.

Just a reminder to STOP!
– Stands for “persevere”. Life is short and there’s only a “season” for us to serve, spread the word, and be obedient. I need to “be tough”. 1 Cor 15:58… “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” – Stands for “obey”. Remember it’s not a burden to obey, but a sign of our love to God. 1 John 5:1-3… “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burden-some.” – Stands for “talk”. How long has it been since I told someone about Jesus and my salvation? I’m thankful for it – shouldn’t I share it with someone else? 1 Peter 3:15…“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” - Stands for “service”. When I stop I ask myself have I done anything today in service to my God or to my brother? 1 John 4:21… “And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.”
