Nite Lites

Sometimes I wish I had an eye on each of my big toes to protect from banging them on things in the dark when my "Nite Lite" is off. My toes are truly thankful for "Nite Lites" for they are little lamps unto my feet.

But more importantly is the "nite lite" for our souls. David said, "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path... Ps 119:105. God's word is our nite lite to keep us from stumbling in the darkness.

John 1:4 says Jesus was the life and light of men. Jesus was the light. John 12:35"...For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes"..

Have you ever considered that we, as Christians are "Nite Lites" for our world? Scripture states we live in a sinfully, dark world, and that Jesus came to defeat sin and darkness.

Paul writes in Rom 13:12:"The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.", and continuing that thought in Phil.2:15...

"so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world...".

Matthew and Luke give the story of unhidden light...Luke 8:16 - "Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light.

Matt 5:14-16..."You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

Eph 5:8-9 -for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light(for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),

Even though we are lights, we must keep Jesus Christ as the source of our illumination."Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness - Luke 11:35... No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light -2 Cor. 11:14.

So "plug in" to the Word and let your "nite lite" shine.
