The Gift That Got Them There
Mike Mazzalongo | April 1st, 2012

In several weeks we will be celebrating the graduation of our high school & college seniors. As a congregation we are proud of their achievement and share their joy in reaching this important milestone.

As in every success story, there are usually many individuals who have contributed to the final outcome and graduation is no exception. One person that probably figures most in these young persons’ lives and success are their mothers.

I believe that if each graduate were asked, they would readily acknowledge that “Mom” drove the car to school on many occasions, helped with the homework, visited the teachers, picked them up when they were sick, delivered forgotten lunches, hosted and fed schoolmates, cheered them on, checked their grades, chewed them out and helped choose the prom dress or tux….WHEW!….I’m tired just writing about it.

There will be diplomas and other awards given out during this special season which will hang on office walls and be pressed into scrapbooks. However, no gift offered to these graduates will be more precious than the mother’s love that bore them to this moment. Thanks Mom, for all you’ve done to get them there.
