What a wonderful day April 28th was for me. The culmination of 7 years of filling out forms, standing in line, and waiting for the mail finally came to fruition. At the Federal courthouse I took my oath and became an American citizen.
If that wasn't enough of a blessing, that night a group of brethren organized a wonderful celebration to mark this special occasion. I want to thank all those who came Friday night. Your presence and well wishes were much appreciated.
I especially want to thank Judy Roberts for her joyful zeal in organizing the event, along with the help of Niecie Henderson and Linda Alsup. To you and the others who prepared food, decorated, and brought gifts, I will always be indebted.
It may be an old fashioned sentiment, but I am proud to be an American and hope only to serve this nation well. To all of you, thanks once again and may God bless America.
