What's the difference? Each could be the same stone. It is simple a matter of where they are and how they are used. The stumbling block becomes so by being placed in such a way as to make someone trip or fall. The stepping stone could be the same block, but placed in such a way as to help someone navigate an easier path thru possible hazards. And we are all familiar with a building block, when used in conjunction with others, as a structure or part of its foundation.
Now that we have established the difference...which one are you?
Does your life and actions cause someone else to stumble or fall away? Does your life and actions help someone to be more likely to want to be a Christian? Does your life and actions reveal to a strong foundation in
Chris and a contributing part of the strengthening of His church?
Rom 14:13...Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way.
Which are you... a stumbling block, a stepping stone, or a building block,? Only you can decide.
Eph 2:20b-22...Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
1 Peter 2:4-6...Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
