Each day reminds me that I'm one year closer to my time to die. That's not meant to be morbid nor sad, but it is reality. I have thought about this for many years and have concluded that I am (we are), "living the dream".
We go to sleep, dream for a short while, and we wake up to continue with whatever life deals us. Our dreams are short compared to our daily lives. But dreams aren't reality...life is. When people claim they are living the dream, they imply that it's great, but it won't last very long.
This world in which we live is a dream compared to eternity. Our life here is over so quickly, even if we live to be over 100 years, it is short in the overall time span. It is like a dream in the middle of eternity. So, we are all "living the dream" right this minute. Question is "What kind of a dream will our life be?"
In the scheme of things, it could be a good dream, or it could be a nightmare! If we are in Christ when we "wake up" to eternity, it will have been a good dream. But if we "wake up to eternity without Christ...it will be, beyond imagination, the worst nightmare possible!
There is no ending when we "wake up" in eternity and our "living the dream" is over. So, ask yourself, as I try to continue asking myself..."How am I living my dream?"
James 4:14... Ps 39:5. Think about it before you "wake up".
