We hear almost weekly of some one being a victim of "road rage" on our streets and highways. Don't get me wrong, a driver who becomes angry and then turns their anger on another driver is not the "road rage" I condone nor endorse. It's unacceptable in any case. But there is an acceptable road rage for Christians. Anger against sin which would try to hinder us on the "road to heaven". Our pilgrim path to eternity.
Anyone or anything that tries to move us off the path God provided to get to heaven should make us angry! Those would be directly connected to the devil himself, who certainly wishes us to crash on our route. He will use anything or anyone to run us off the road. We need to be full of "rage" against him and be willing to exercise God's will to protect our backs.
When road rage occurs to someone on our streets and roadways usually the only option is to call for help. On our "highway to heaven" journey, it is our only option...calling for help from the one who can overcome...our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We must get angry with sin in order to find peace with God.
So as we plot a course on our road to heaven, its ok to carry that "rage" against sin and the devil... as a righteous anger. Don't get forced from the straight and narrow way. It is a tough journey - there are more of them than us... but,
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths" (Prov. 3:5-6)
