Disgusting

So many things in life disgust me!

I watch the news and see things like the recent school shooting in south Florida and I'm disgusted.  I see people mistreating babies and animals and I'm disgusted.  I see criminals turned back onto the streets to commit more crimes and I'm disgusted.  I watch people act as if they are the only ones who make a difference, the only ones who count and who are rude and obnoxious to others and I'm disgusted.  I have much more disgusts as I'm sure you do as well.  But what do you think God thinks of all this?

God created a perfect world...it was all GOOD (Gen 1.)!  Satan entered the picture and tainted that world with a disgusting things we call sin.  I see so many disgusting things going on in our society, our country, our world...that are "revolting", "repulsive", "sickening", "ghastly", "filthy", "horrible", "nauseating" (all words for disgusting).  Don't you wonder what God thinks?

As Christians we must be dedicated to not be "disgusting", but rather the opposite.  "Likable", "beautiful", "good", "friendly", "moral", "kind", "lovable".  We should be desirable people because the Spirit of God dwells in us!  (Eph. 3:16-19).

We are to be a light to the world. (Matt. 5:14).  We should be attracting attention, not by being disgusting, but by being Christ-like.  Our actions should produce hope in a disgusting world, victory over our disgusting enemy - Satan, and the faith that God is there to forgive our own disgusting behaviors (sin) when we fail and fall short.

Regardless of how disgusting the world gets, regardless of how we are treated, we must "fight the fight...finish the course...keep the faith" and we are promised a "crown of righteousness" set aside for us. (2 Tim. 4:7).
