I am constantly examining myself. Something I have discovered is that I struggle with procrastination. It is very easy for me to let life take over and procrastinate. Not in just my priorities, but in my everyday relationships as well. Whether it be neglecting text messages and emails for days, putting off a school paper one more time or letting my yard get out of hand; procrastination is a constant enemy to the well-being of my spiritual and physical walk. It is a lie that I tell myself so that the workload may seem easier. In reality, I am only making things harder on myself which in turn causes stress and anxiety!

Fortunately, the Holy Spirit wrote warnings and encouragements to the Christian procrastinators! Verses like:

· “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good work makes him glad.” Proverbs 12:25

· “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11

· “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

I’m grateful to the Lord for covering something seemingly simple like ‘procrastination.’

Procrastination can have a very negative effect on our spiritual and physical lives! Not having the funds to complete that truck restoration is not procrastination, but turning those socks inside out to pass on laundry is! Let us remember to be disciplined and combat the lies of ease that procrastination tells us!
