Encouraging One Another

Hebrews 10:24-25 gives very valuable instructions for our Christian efforts:

“Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deed, not forsaking our own assembling together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, all the more, as you see the day drawing near.”

As is instructed, we should see how each of us may best stimulate (arouse, urging) others to love (both love for Christ and one another) and active goodness, not forsaking our own assembling together encouraging one another.

Not only do we need to do what we can in a positive way to encourage each other when we assemble, we also need to do what we can to encourage those who do not assemble. We could give each one a call or visit or maybe send a card because we care about their spiritual well being. Sometimes, for different reasons or opinions or words spoken, members in our family begin to drift away. Careful encouragement is so very valuable because every one is important to this church family.

Another encouragement opportunity is for those who cannot attend worship services. They also need encouragement. We have set up a card assignment method to include the shut-ins, elderly and those who are sick or in the hospital. These assignments will be for members who have signed up to do such from the involvement form. A rotational method of assignments will be put in your mailboxes as your turn comes.

So, let’s all be encouragers for rebuilding the Lord’s family here at Choctaw. Our Lord will bless efforts.
