Prayers for our graduates, as they go on their Way

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word” Psalm 119:9

Our prayer for you as you go on your way is that you seek the righteousness of God as Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, knowing, “For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish”, Psalm 1:6. But the way of the wicked looks like so much fun. It is even called “the fast lane”. But that “lane” leads to the destruction of your character, your relationships, your future and your life.

We pray that you will at all times find your peace in the Lord Jesus Christ as he invited us all to find rest in him (Matthew 11:28-30). We pray that God will guide your feet in the way of peace like Zacharias said in Luke 1:79. The world tantalizes with the allure of “sex, drugs & rock n roll”, but these will leave you empty and filled with regret. Sin can put its mark on you in ways that rob you of peace. We pray you avoid such troubles.

Those who love you will pray that you deliberately live your life in the way of truth just as Peter spoke of in his second letter, 2:2. Always be truthful. Refuse to lie, about anything. Hold to objective truth as if it were your lifeline. Like Solomon wrote, “Buy the truth and sell it not”, Proverbs 23:23. Jesus said the truth would make us free (John 8:31-32). Living a lie will turn us into slaves. The devil is the father of lies, and he sets no one free.

Our prayer is that you live your life in the way of salvation, which is the new and living way. New & always new. Alive. What could be better? Your inward self will be renewed in Christ day by day. He promises not just life, but abundant life (John 10:10).

Jesus’ “narrow way” leads to life. As a huge locomotive is enabled only by the narrow steel rails to pull great loads along great distances, so you too will find your stride in the narrow way of the Lord.
