THOUGHTS FROM PHILIPPIANS

Within the book of Philippians I find words of encouragement and strength that I believe can help us all as we live the Christian life.

Chapter 1 (Prayer that our love will abound)

9And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment,

10so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;

11having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Chapter 2 (Our relationship with each other)

3Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one an-other as more important than yourselves;

4do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Chapter 3 (We’re waiting for our Savior, Jesus Christ)

20For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;

21who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

Chapter 4 (Our strength for each day)

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
