If, for the sake of discussion, Christianity were a political candidate, what would be its platform?
Would it champion human life as being sacred, precious, and in the image of God? Or would it let each individual decide if human life was of any value or pertainence?
If Christianity were a political candidate would it be more concerned about the varying economy or the growing ungodliness of our society?
If Christianity were a political candidate, would it be more concerned over issues lasting “four years” or issues which are eternal?
If Christianity were a political candidate, who would be at the “top of the ticket”?
If Jesus was the “top of the party”, whose policies would the party follow, and how would they know what those policies are?
If you’re a member of the “Christian party”, consider your Lord and Master’s policies by reading God’s word and submitting to His politics.
Matt 28:18… Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
I hope no one misinterprets the intent of this short article. Christianity is far and above any man-made institution, especially politics. But if we examine the fundamental teachings of the scriptures, and use them as the standards for our leaders and their parties, we will continue to have a great and promising future. If we choose to ignore the guidelines that God laid out for us, and elect leaders who do not hold to the Biblical principles, I fear that God will not bless us in the future in the way He has in the past.
Using Christianity as our political guide is a pretty good way to choose our leaders. Using Christianity as our standard is the only way to live our lives.
Pray that God will bless us in our choices, and again be the focus of this great nation.
