It sounds good to those of us in leadership here at Choctaw.
We believe that a full-time or at least a part-time man on staff whose focus would specifically be ministering to our young families and young people could prove to be a great asset.
We live in an age when the security of our families and the innocence of our children are under attack. Dysfunction and divorce are rampant. Drugs, alcohol, pornography, promiscuity, sensuality, secularism, materialism and more are having devastating effects on the lives of many around us, even within the Lord’s church.
We understand that the responsibility for the spiritual health of a family rests primarily in the hands of each father and mother. Leaders who are charged to “Shepherd the Flock of God” also bear responsibility for each lamb in their care. Our hope is to enhance the work of spiritual leadership in the home and guidance in the kingdom with the addition of a minister who could lead a consistent and specific ministry to families and young people.
Leadership in this area has been shared among us for several years and with some good results. Yet, there is so much more that we believe could be done.
What do you think about the idea?
We have a plan to add such a minister to our staff. Would you join us Sunday, December 1st after evening worship to discuss the idea and our plan?
Until then, please pray for the Lord’s will to be done in this matter as in every effort made here for the kingdom and glory of God.
