Jesus was homeless. He said the foxes had holes and the birds had nests, but he had nowhere to lay his head. Would we think him a bum?
Jesus told a Samaritan woman that she and her people did not know what they worshipped (John 4:21-22). He even told some Sadducees that they were in error not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God (Matthew 22:29). Would we think him rude?
Jesus openly condemned hypocrites and liars, calling them children of the devil and snakes and such. How could you expect to “grow a church” with such a caustic fellow around?
Jesus practically drove away a rich young man who came to him with a question about salvation (Matthew 19:16-22). Didn’t he realize what he could have done with that guy’s money? How could he “run off” such a good potential contributor?
Jesus ran some people right out of church...with a whip! (John 2:13-17) We’d have to get a lawyer and prepare for some lawsuits.
Jesus even had a problem with divorce. He only allowed it when your mate committed fornication (Matthew 19:3-12). Was he void of compassion? Did he expect too much?
Jesus constantly attracted tax collectors and sinners. He even fasted and encouraged others to do so. Was he some kind of fanatic?
If he came back to live among us today, would he need to change some of his habits? Or would we?
