Sounds funny... but temptation is not a sin. Sometimes we forget that. God allows us to be tempted (1 Cor. 10:13) ...but He doesn't cause nor allow us to sin. Jesus was tempted more than once... in the wilderness, at the cross, and a 'better time', Luke 4:13..."And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season." So why should we expect to be treated differently?
Well then, if temptation is not a sin, then what is temptation? Temptation is a choice of what is right or wrong, according to God's law. Sin is a transgression of God's word by yielding to temptation.
If you are a human it is inevitable you will be tempted. Everyone will be tempted. It started in Eden, with a lie from Satan, and will continue till the Lord returns to gather His faithful. Whether we yield or not is entirely up to us. I saw a wise sign that said, "We cannot keep the birds of the air from flying over our heads...but we CAN keep them from building a nest in our hair."
1 Peter 1:6-9..."In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls." (NASU)
So expect temptation...pray not to yield.
