The Doctor is In

Man’s worst plagues are not of the body, but of the mind and spirit. Anxiety, guilt, fear, pessimism, negativity, hatred, apathy, depression and their cousins torment us beyond any physical malady we may face. These are the very troubles addressed by Jesus, the Great Physician.

Do you see how the earth renews itself? It is not by accident that all the mechanisms necessary to produce clean air, fresh water, rich composted earth and even new life are built right in. When Jesus spoke the creation into existence (John 1:1-3), he made things renewable so they would last until earth’s purpose was fulfilled.

Jesus made your mind & heart renewable as well.

We look for cures to our bodily ills through medicine, nutrition, supplements, surgery or whatever we find in hopes of relieving us of our discomfort. Sometimes we make matters worse. You’ve heard the stories too. Maybe you are one.

Some folks do the same with “heart trouble”. Maybe it’s alcohol or drugs. Maybe it’s sex or thrill seeking. Some even try leaving old relationships to start new ones.

If you are pursuing peace, however, you will only find it in Jesus.

He frees us from guilt, taking our sin upon himself. He teaches us how to live with purpose, resurrecting our minds to new life. Following him naturally filters out the filth & toxins of base thinking and behavior.

The things that truly bring health to our lives are the by-products of seeking first the kingdom of God as the Good Doctor taught us.

He invites you to call on him. You don’t even need an appointment.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30
