Apologetics defined – “reasoned arguments or writings in justification of something, typically a theory or religious doctrine”.

Apologetics must be valuable because the Holy Spirit sprinkled them throughout God’s word. Here are a few examples (note – ff means “and following”):

Psalm 19:1ff – “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”….. Examine the heavens, study the environment God has provided for us and you will see and learn marvelous
lessons about our Creator and Father that may not be taught with the written word.

Psalm 139:14ff – “I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.”….. Look closely at your body and be amazed at how intricately and expertly you have been formed. You can see, move, think & feel with your body and your emotions. You are the most complex creation in the universe, and God made you.

Romans 1:18ff – verse 20 – “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”….. Atheism has no foundation, and evidence for this abounds all around us. God’s eternal power and divine nature are clearly expressed in all we see.

Hebrews 3:3-4 – “For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.”….. “Every house is built by someone”????? Really? You mean it does not simply evolve into existence? Yes, even this simple reference points us to the logic & reason of causality. Everything must have a cause, and the cause is necessarily greater than what was brought into being.

God has given us the Bible, a written expression of His will, but the Bible tells us that His creation cries out to us of His glory, genius, and power. Lessons well worth our time!
