Remember the three Little Pigs? Sure, you’ve heard the story.

Three pigs leave home to go out into the world on their own. Each one builds a house; one of straw, one of sticks, one of bricks. When the wolf shows up the only house that is safe is the one made of bricks.

Straw & sticks are cheap & quick. We like cheap & quick. Building with bricks is expensive and requires a great deal of time & effort. But if you know the wolf is coming, and he always does, you will spend whatever resources you have and take time to make your home secure.

Apparently not all pigs know this profound truth, hence the story. I’m telling you to encourage you to take the time & make the effort to build with bricks.

Actually, Jesus said it first. Not with bricks, but with something infinitely stronger. If you will learn & follow His teachings he guarantees that your house will stand strong through the storms of life that come to all of us (Matthew 7:24-27).

No one knows how to put a house together like the Master-builder from Nazareth. Put your faith in Him every day and you will be ready for whatever comes. I could not tell you anything better than this.
