How Do You See It?
“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” Matthew 6:22-23

It’s all about light. How do you get to be full of light? Jesus says you have to have a good eye. What does that mean? Are folks who wear glasses doomed to be less spiritual? Ha!

What’s the difference between a positive person and a negative one? The difference is in how they look at life, or if you wish, how they see things.

Jesus teaches us to have faith in him and in his father. They want us to trust them. If we believe that God loves us and is seeking our best, we can “see” that Jesus his son was sent by him to be our savior and that he had sent his Spirit to dwell in us, how then can we not be positive!?!?

Jesus says, “Don’t be anxious” (Matthew 6:25-32). He says, “Be of good cheer” because he has over come the world in which we have trouble (John 16:33).

He promises to provide for us and hear our prayers and that somehow there are angels beholding the Father’s face on our behalf (Matthew 18:10).

Can you see that what he says to us is the truth?

But it is more than that…..

How do you see your job? How do you see your money? How do you see your house and your car and your “leisure” time? Wait, still more…..

How do you see your parents? How do you see your children? How do you see your waitress? How do you see political leaders? How do you see your enemies? How do you see ______________? Fill in the blank.

If Jesus (the True Light - John 1:4) does not impact how you see everything in life, you are not seeing everything clearly.
