Sally Kern Is Right

Oklahoma state representative Sally Kern recently made the headlines when she said that the ‘homosexual agenda’ in the United States is a greater threat to our nation than international terrorism. Anyone with a healthy grasp of Biblical history ought to be able to see that her statement is right on target.

What is the homosexual agenda all about? Grossly perverse sexual practices for one thing, but that’s something they do ‘among themselves’. What’s worse is that they also want to redefine marriage for all of the rest of us as well as reeducate our children, even within our own school systems, to accept their brand of perversion as wholesome.

Why is this a matter of national security?

Have we forgotten that it was not ‘foreigners’ that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, but God Himself, Genesis 19:24-25. Has anyone other than the Sodomites brought on themselves such an obvious expression of God’s anger? Have we turned a blind eye to the origin of the term ‘sodomy’ and God’s view of it?

The apostle Peter and also Jude reminded us of why the Sodomites were destroyed using words and expressions to describe what they did such as, ‘ungodly’, ‘…sensual conduct of unprincipled men…’, ‘…who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires…’, 2nd Peter 2:6-10, and ‘…they… indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh…’, Jude 7. Jude said that these have been exhibited as an example. Have we forgotten what that example is supposed to teach us?

How can the United States of America escape God’s judgment if we assent to tolerate and even endorse such behavior? Is there anything that God has shown that He despises more than this kind of conduct?

I find it interesting that even before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire, He allowed them to be overrun and taken captive by the Elamites. At that time, God saved them through Abraham who defeated the Elamites, freed the people and returned them to their king, Genesis 14:1-24.

Did they heed this brush with their enemies as a warning to return to God and abandon their evil ways? Sadly, no. The people of Sodom continued in their twisted sensuality, even to the point of later attempting to ravish two angels who appeared as men that God had sent to bring Lot and his family out of the city, Genesis 19:1-11. So after Lot was brought out of the city, the fire came down.

Will God rain fire on us? I wonder if it hasn‘t already begun. Have you never wondered why it is that fornication invites a number of serious health problems, many of which cause burning pain? Have you ever wondered why AIDS seems to be the worst of them? Don’t you find it interesting (and reassuring) that there are no sexual diseases that you can contract from a faithful monogamous relationship?

As He did with Lot and his family, God wants to ‘bring us out of Sodom’ as well. What will we do, America?
