God Votes Too

Election Day! We cast out votes for candidates and issues put
before us. But sometimes our wishes in an election are frustrated. That’s democracy. God’s ‘vote’, however, is never frustrated. It is His universe.

When He votes for you, you’re in.

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. “They will be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”

Malachi 3:16-17

Would God vote for you? Would you be in His book of remembrance? Would you be considered as one of His own sons or daughters? Will you receive the mark of God that will save you from judgment?

Behold, six men came from the direction of the upper gate which faces north, each with his shattering weapon in his hand; and among them was a certain man clothed in linen with a writing case at his loins….. The Lord said to Him, “Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.” But to the others He said in my hearing, “Go through the city after him and strike; do not let your eye have pity and do not spare. Utterly slay old men, young men, maidens, little children, and women, but do not touch any man on whom is the mark…”
Ezekiel 9:2, & 4-6

How can you know if God puts His mark on you? Those above were marked because they had sufficient conscience to sigh and groan because of the wickedness they beheld right there in God’s “holy city”. Caring about the same things God cared about exempted them from judgment! You care about the same things God cares about, don’t you?

When the apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, he said:

Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord
knows those who are His,” and, “everyone who names the name of the Lord
is to abstain from wickedness.”     2nd Timothy 2:19

Seal? Yes, a seal. That means it is a done deal. Solid, fixed, unchanging and sure. God knows His children, and He wants you to be one!

But what can you and I do to make sure we are His children?
